For my project, I wanted to explore themes that were extremely prevalent in shows that I grew up watching as a kid. The main handful of shows and movies that I wanted to explore were Akira, Transformers, and Neongeniesis Evangelion. These 3 pieces of media all share a similar art style as well as share some themes that I wanted to explore. The idea of apocalyptical power stemming from technology is an interesting theme that feels even more prevalent with each passing day. With the advancements in technology, I wanted to explore the way technology itself would interpret these ideas which are prevalent in these pieces of media.
To do this I created 3 compositions using analogous and monochromatic color arrangements with heavy emphasis on the color red and secondary colors of blues and orange. After I created the 3 compositions with the layout, colors, and assets that I wanted the AI to use, I imported the completed image into DALE 2’s outpainting program. I then put in prompts and themes I wanted the AI to focus on and expanded the size of my pictures using whatever the AI interpreted from my pre-existing image.I also used Photoshop's content fill AI to make the final images the proper aspect ratios. All 3 of these pictures deal with post-apocalyptic situations and the dangers of technology.
EOTW3 deals with more body horror which was thematically tied to our increase in technological advancements which caused bodily mutation in the movie Akira. The prompts I used to expand this image were: earth being destroyed from space, surrealistic, apocalypse, neon genesis evangelion.
EOTW2 deals with the global scale of planetary destruction. The prompts I used to expand this image were: earth being destroyed from space, surrealistic, apocalypse, neon genesis evangelion.
EOTW1 focuses on more spiritual destruction. I placed biblically accurate renditions of angels as well as pieces of old broken and ruined transformers. The prompts I used to expand this image were: red ocean, body horror, surrealistic, apocalypse.
